Ubuntu Screensaver Options

Options seem to have disappeared from the Ubuntu screensavers. Install xscreensaver and xscreensaver-data-extras to get them back.

Customise what text is displayed in text based screensavers, for example:

• Time: add date +"%H:%M %d/%m/%y" to the program option.
• News: add, for example, http://www.rte.ie/rss/news.xml to the feed option.
